Here's a pastel painting I just finished of a red cardinal. He was lots of fun to draw on my day off.

Here is the completed portrait that I did of Tyler. I used colored pencil, pastels, and canson tinted paper. He's a handsome lad.

Gandalf the Grey

Here is my final charcoal drawing of Gandalf the Grey. My client is very pleased. I used tinted canson paper with charcoal and white chalk.

Gandalf Studies

Here are two Gandalf sketches that I've drawn in readiness for the final drawing that I will work on next week. I love the drama that can be created using gray paper, charcoal and with chalk. Still deciding whether or not to put a hat on him.

Playing in the Waves

I remember this day very well. I was sitting up about 10 feet away watching my son Ethan playing in the ocean. He was so peaceful and fascinated by the little sand crabs that he found under the sand. What a perfect day!
