Ally and Courtney's Portrait / Final

Here is the finished portrait of Ally and Courtney. I am pleased with the result. My client is very happy. It was a lot of fun to create this drawing. I enjoy working with all the different pastel colors and incorporating the color of paper as the tone of the girls skin. It's important to find the right time to stop. You want to make sure that you've done all that you can do to make the drawing the best that it can be. Also, it's important to not overwork it, and keep it fresh and clean.

Ally and Courtney's portrait / Step 2

Still working on their portrait. At the start, I tried different papers. It looks best to me when you have a tinted paper that is close to the subjects skin tone. It's a lot of fun to blend and use a variety of colors.

Pears with Autumn Leaves

The leaves were gathered from trees at Manito Park in Spokane, WA. The medium is oil paint and I painted from life.

This drawing was done using colored pencil on tinted paper.
